This road trip through Colorado was yet another excuse to get out my camera. We started in Golden, then made our way through the mountain towns of Vail, Palisade, Ouray, and Telluride - each one uniquely stunning, tucked into the towering mountains.

A huge part of this journey was watching (and learning from) my friend as he fly fished in some of the most scenic and tranquil spots I have been to. I got a crash course in fly fishing; now words like fly, weights and casting, now mean something to me.

Colorado was full of surprises: wild mesas, towering 14ers (yep, people actually hike those), dramatic canyons, and wildlife. But what really stood out? The people. Active, adventurous and outdoorsy. Colorado seems to breathe movement and life.

This trip reminded me how much beauty there is in the wide open, in still rivers, and in tiny mountain towns.
